Sharing The Opportunity

Dear Friends and Family,
What an exciting adventure Cassi and I have been on since 1996, the year we launched out into ministry at Denton Bible church. We have since gone to Sherman for six years and then Nashville for two. We have learned so much a long the way and picked up some of the greatest friends (what we like to call family) anyone could ever hope for. We would not trade our journey for anything on earth.

This past January our church in Franklin, TN went on a twenty-one day fast. During that time Cassi and I felt very strongly that God was calling us to lead a group of people in a mighty way. Youth have been a part of our lives for a long time and are very important to us, but this time we felt the call to work with adults. To lead mature individuals in a way that could truly change the world for the cause of Christ.

We have seen the Lord open many doors to make this happen. Through prayer we have adopted a baby girl that wasn’t preplanned or pre-funded. Through prayer we sold our house in TN after only three months, in a market where the bottom has dropped out. Through prayer God gave us money to live on for four months when we only had enough for one. Through prayer God moved us back to Texas with two large u-hauls and enough money left over to take an assessment for church planting. And Through prayer, God opened the door for me to plant with a church in Austin that only had spots budgeted for three pastors. God has spoken very clearly to Cassi and I of where he wants us to spend the next twenty to thirty years of our lives, Lord willing.
What has God called me to you ask? I believe with all my heart that my experiences in life and ministry have culminated for a time such as this. To reach every man, woman, and child in Austin with the life changing reality of Jesus Christ. At the sake of sounding overly zealous and radical, I want to pour the rest of my life into sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with Austin, TX and then growing those who believe in the foundation of Biblical truth. This is the cause Cassi and I want to stake the rest of our lives. We want to belong to something that is larger than ourselves and the four walls of a church building. We want to be missionaries to Austin through the guidance and leadership of Hill Country Bible Church in Austin.

I’m not talking about a 2 week mission trip to Mexico. I’m talking about an organized plan to spend the rest of my life sharing with the people of Austin, TX. To bring people who are far from God close to him. To teach and disciple the unwavering- ancient truths of God’s word. Cassi and I are all the way in, but to do this we need your help. I implore you to ask God these three things: 1. Lord, do I have the time and energy to pray for this church plant with passion and consistency? If so, please commit to pray for us. 2. Lord, are you calling me to GO (move) to Austin with Todd and Cassi to share the “Good News” and minister to the people there in a mighty way? If so, the Lord can overcome any obstacle to make it happen. There is no greater call than to serve him. 3. Lord, to reach a whole community in Austin it takes funding, could I sacrificially give to this cause? If so, ask God, how much?

I love you and could use your support. Please pray and ask God what he wants you to do. This is a mighty vision. A God sized vision. We will love you however God wants you to respond. I like what God said to Jonah at the end of the book, Jonah 4:11, “But Nineveh has more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left... Should I not be concerned for that great city?”

What do you think?

Much Love in the Lord,

Todd Wortham and Family
